Tips to reduce weight
- Cut down carbohydrates
- Consume whole grain cereals instead of refined grain products
- Eat more healthy proteins
- Meat: beef, chicken, pork, and lamb
- Fish and seafood: salmon, trout, and shrimp
- Eggs: whole eggs with the yolk
- Plant-based proteins: beans, legumes, and soy
- Eat more fruits (at least 2 servings per day)
- Eat more vegetables (at least 3 servings per day)
- Increase consumption of legumes
- Consume ‘Naadu’ rice instead of other small(small in size) rice varieties
- Do exercises at least 30 minutes a day, at least three times per week
- Drink water, especially before meals
- Eat slowly, chew slowly
- Avoid sugary drinks, sugary snacks, empty calorie foods/drinks and fast food
- Use smaller plates to eat
- Do not skip meals
- Keep good timing between meals and snacks
- Eat healthy snacks
